The Indian Cabinet has approved a proposal to auction off the fifth generation of high speed, or 5G, telecommunications spectrum for 20 years at the end of July, according to a statement.
The total spectrum of 72 GHz will be auctioned lowly across (600 MHz, 700 MHz, 800 MHz, 900 MHz, 1800 MHz, 2100 MHz, 2300 MHz), MID (3300 MHz) and high frequency bands (26 GHz), the government said.
The 5G telecommunications service, is expected to be launched immediately, will have a speed and capacity of 10 times more than 4G.
This cabinet also has a personal prisoner network called green that uses company giant and technology that can have its own network to enable machine communication machines, internet things and artificial intelligence applications throughout automotive, health services, agriculture, energy, and other sectors.
India, which has the lowest telecommunications cost in the world, has seen intense competition in the telecommunications room over the past few years, which leads to consolidation.
Meanwhile, the government is looking for developing domestic 5G technology and has provided incentive activities in this sector through incentives related to production for cellular handset making, telecommunications equipment and semiconductors, which are expected to help launch 5G. Prime Minister Narendra Modi said India would launch a 6G service at the end of this decade.
In the upcoming 5G auction, the company will benefit from the reforms announced in September 2021 including the cost of using zero spectrum. Furthermore, the requirements for sending financial bank guarantees that are equivalent to one annual installment have also been eliminated.
For 5G air waves, successful bidders don’t have to pay in advance. Conversely, payments for spectrum can be made in the same 20 annual installments in advance at the beginning of each year, said the government.
In addition, the bidder can submit a spectrum after 10 years without future obligations in connection with the installment of balance, he added.
It is not clear whether the cabinet has approved the Telecom Department’s recommendation regarding the Spectrum Prices.
