Popular milk brands Amul and Mother Dairy had both last hiked milk prices by Rs 2 per litre in August to compensate for the increase in procurement costs. The development comes days after Union Home Minister and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah blazoned that Amul will be intermingled with five other collaborative societies to form amulti-state collaborative society( MSCS). Addressing the 70th grand session of the North Eastern Council( NEC) last week, Shah said the process for the junction has formerly started.
The government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi is giving precedence to natural husbandry and digital husbandry and for instrument of natural products, the process to form amulti-state collaborative society by incorporating Amul and five other collaborative societies has been started,” he said. The MSCS will insure the import of the products after its instrument so that profit can go directly into the bank accounts of the growers, he added.
