San Francisco: Hackers Stealing Cryptocurrency is worth more than $ 600 million from the digital ledger used by players from the popular online game Axie Infinity, in the main digital cash heist which was revealed on Tuesday.
The interest in Cipocurrency has boomed, along with its values, but the money is also an attractive target for intelligent thieves of technology.
Ronin Network said the attack targets the blockchain to score 173,600 ethers and worth $ 25.5 million stablecoin, digital assets pegged on the US dollar.
Haul was valued at $ 545 million when stolen on March 23, but worth around $ 615 million based on Tuesday’s price, making it one of the biggest theft in the world of Crypto.
“Most of the funds hacked are still in a hacker wallet,” Ronin said in a post that revealed theft.
The team at Sky Mavis, battle maker and trading Game Axie Infinity, found security violations on Tuesday after the user could not attract ether, according to the company.
Ronin is still investigating hacking, but said that the hackers hold private “keys” to attract digital funds.
“We know trust need to be obtained and use every resource we have to spread the most sophisticated security and processes to prevent attacks in the future,” Ronin said.
“We work with law enforcement officials, forensic cryptographers, and our investors to ensure no loss of user funds.”
In Axie Infinity, players participate in fighting using axis such as colorful lumps, and especially valued “smooth love herb” (slps) that can be exchanged with cryptocurrency or cash – or reinvelted back to the world of virtual Lunacia.
About 35 percent of Infinity Axie traffic – and the largest part of 2.5 million daily active users – comes from the Philippines, where high proficiency in English, strong game culture and the use of widespread smartphones has triggered its popularity, according to Sky Mavis .
To play the game, the first player must buy at least three axes.
Axie is a unique NFT – Token, non-fungible, with a set of abilities and certain characteristics. Like NFT artwork, they are stored in Blockchain – Ledger digital that cannot be changed.
Axies can be purchased, sold or rented with other players. The owner can also breed them to make a new axis that gives more value.
