Washington: Tesla CEO Elon Musk is fast enough to react to a lawsuit filed with her by Twitter for violating a contract of USD 44 billion.
A few minutes after the news appeared online that Twitter had sued him, Musk went down to the microblogging site and was quite twezed, “Oh Ironi Lol.”
While his tweet did not mention the lawsuit, it was clear that he referred him, given that, in April, Twitter was reportedly not even wanting to go through the agreement.
In accordance with the threshold, the lawsuit was filed at the Delaware Chancellor Court on Tuesday, accusing Musk Hypocrisy.
“Twitter brought this action to order Musk from further violations, forcing Musk to fulfill its legal obligations, and to force improvement of the merger after the satisfaction of some extraordinary conditions,” Twitter said in a lawsuit.
The lawsuit marked the beginning of what could be a protracted legal battle when Twitter tried to hold the Musk in his agreement to pay USD 54.20 per share for the company.
Twitter, represented by the law firm M&A Powerhouse Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz, accused that Musk sought an escape from the agreement, which needed a “bad effect of material” or contract violation.
“Musk must try to turn one of them,” said the lawsuit.
Musk announced the termination of an agreement of USD 44 billion in a letter sent by his team to Twitter last week. Musk decided to suspend the agreement due to several violations of the purchase agreement.
In April, Musk reached an acquisition agreement with Twitter at USD 54.20 per share in a transaction worth around USD 44 billion. However, Musk postponed an agreement in May to allow his team to review the truth of Twitter claims that less than 5% of accounts on the platform were bot or spam.
Back in June, Musk openly accused the microblogging website of violating the merger agreement and threatening to go and cancel the acquisition of social media companies for not providing data he asked for on SPAM and fake accounts.
A few days ago, Musk mocked Twitter for starting a legal battle to force him to buy a company. Musk tweeted four pictures he laughed, “They said I could not buy Twitter. Then they would not reveal the bot information. Now they want to force me to buy Twitter in court. Now they have to reveal bot information in court.”
