IT Major Wipro on Friday announced the appointment of Anis Chenchha as a member of the Executive Board and Chief Executive Officer, APMEA (Asia Pacific, India, Middle East and Africa). Chenchha comes with more than two decades of experience in consultation, IT and business process services.
In a statement, Wipro said it had appointed Anis Chencha as CEO, APMEA. Chenchhha also joined Wipro executive board, he added. Before this, he has worked with Capgemini as a Global CEO of its business services and members of the Group Executive Committee.
Previously, Chenchhah held a variety of leadership roles in Capgemini’s financial services throughout Europe and the Middle East. CEO Wipro and Managing Director Thierry Delaporte, said: “With a successful track record of encouraging high growth in a diverse context, managing complex transformation and building high-performance teams, Anis is well positioned to accelerate our success on the market.”
The company subsequently said that N S Bala, who had become the CEO of the APMEA strategic market unit for the past year, has decided to return to the US for personal reasons. “We respect his decision to continue from Wipro and want to sincerely thank him, not only to set a strong foundation in the place of apmea but also for his contribution that is not infrequently for Wipro for the past three decades,” he added.
Wipro has a strong presence and experience in various regions consisting of APMEA. The market unit plays a strategic role as an organization ‘growth machine’, especially with increasing demand from customers for comprehensive modernization and digital transformation solutions, domain expertise, and innovation, Wipro said.
“In line with our growth ambition, we continue to invest in localization and build a variety of talents, while strengthening our ecosystem partnerships and knowledge of regional demands to meet our clients’ expectations,” he added.
